I concure with the stupid people above me. It is a timing issue....And why did you pull the dizzy to replace the intake? I have never done that except on a chebby....cuz the dizzy goes through the intake on them.

alright i got it to start but i still have a problem with it spiting and sputering and not wanting to stay running. this problem start after pulling the intake off to see if it was a rollor motor or not. i thought it was the carb being gumed up again so i took it off and cleaned it out when i put the new intake on but it has not fixed the problem. any ideas? the carb is not over flowing so it dont seem like the needle valve is stuck.

well im sure once its all torn down and put back together it should change something. maybe it just needs a better cleaning and a flush. or just need's to be retuned. im not the best in the world when it comes to stuff like that. ijust tried doing it by ear the first time i had to tune it. lol maybe thats why it was always running so rich but it ran like a champ though lol.

Take your hand and cover the air horn on the carb....Slowly cut off the air into it. If the engine starts to speed up, then yes, you have an intake leak...However, if it starts to die without speeding up at all, then you have no leak and the problem is something else. I would say it's something else.
