My new heads are currently set up w/ k-motion k-850 springs rated for about 165lbs when set at 1.85". My cam (hydraulic roller) states about 120 on the seat, will this extra lbs come to haunt me in a bad way? I know too little is bad and way too much prematurely wears parts, is this too close to borderline?

actually worried if the rollers will keep enough pressure for them. This is just the opposite of the last conversation we had Tommy. I may have to look further into a hybrid setup, or just get some diff springs.

 

Go solid and be done with it. I dont see the lifters as an issue for you, specially your not gonna turn it 8,500rpms. I Dont recall any lift or spring pressure spec recommendations on lifters. There was a post a while ago were Chad (I think), was saying he had run stock FMS rollers in some built motors with no issues

 

Years ago, when I still had a hydraulic roller, I ran more pressure than that. I used a set of FMS lifters and a set of Comp Cams springs with 200lbs on the seat and 440lbs @ .500 lift. Spun the engine to 7500rpm without any problems. I did, however, run all lightweight valvetrain components, oil restrictive pushrods and had killer oil pressure.

I think you will be OK with what you have.

 

original owner of the heads was just a lil off, measured them out today, they def have the k-motion pink stripe, but they have measurements of 230ish on the seat. These fuckers are stiff, from the measurements i figured out, I think that they are actually the k-900-1

Let me know exactly what you are looking for(pressure, size, diameter, etc)and I will check tomorrow and see what I've got. I have plenty of used sets at the shop, I just need to know what you want.
