Well it is starting to get stale in here so instead of making up something or posting a non-auto. post like many of the other forums I thought I would post up something that I think is important for all of you to check.
What is it you ask ? It would be your engine timming ! For those of you that have the capability check it and you could find some lost horsepower.
I was at the track with Mike (1_fast_stang) last Thursday and could not figure out why I was off in the H.P. department. I knew why my 60ft. times were off (it was at night and there were to many damn radial tire cars) but I could not figure out why the M.P.H which is a good gauge for H.P. was off.
My timming was off quite a bit ! Either the distributor somehow got bumped or I did not lock it down hard enough last time. So check your timming people. Now hopefully my Stang will be back where it should be.

Good topic! You can pick up some good nubers by having the correct timing or you could also screw some things up by having the wrong timing. I have a Steeda Timing adj. which works good and is real easy but I also had mine done changed with the chip. You can control the fuel and timing as long ass you have some time to go on the dyno.

Believe me I know how critical timming is to the motors performance. I was kind of poking fun at myself for letting mine be so far off.
You can seriously melt-down some parts if you have to much timming especially with blown or nos cars.

I’m actually losing power with the timing set up I have but it’s because we want to run in a safety zone. I believe that I’m at 34 degrees TOTAL timing. Once on juice I have a timing computer that automatically pulls out 4 degrees and this same computer pulls out 20 degrees at start up to make cranking easier. It is a very nice piece!

i have a 1990 lx 5.0 AOD with 4.10s CAI off rd h-pipe flowmasters and my 60fts are 2.2 does that sound off to anoyone else? it runs 9.52 at sunshine.
