Im about to pick up a foxbody 5.0 for a good price.. 100% stock with 120k on it..
Now I have 5k to spend on upgrades.. all upgrades have to be CARB legal cause i live in CA..
What would you do with the 5K on upgrades?

Not sure what your good price is, but dependeing on what your dropping on the car, the way the economy is you should be able to find a nicely modded car for that kind of money that already CARB proven. IMO

gears, suspension, sub-frame connectors, nitrous, heads/cam/intake....

That should eat up 5K pretty fast. Leave a bit left over.

h/c/i rear suspension(torq box weld, subframe connectors, upper lower control arms, weld axel tubes) gears, tune, injectors, and mass air meter. if you shop around locally you can probable get some good parts at a good price (people will sell for about any price when bills are piling up) oh and dont forget full exhaust with headers long preferred but short tubes will work. and think about where you are and where you wanna be, that means dont just buy parts for now buy them in mind to support future upgrades
