broken axle question need help
Well you should be able to get the c clips off with that spring still installed. Remove the center pin and push the axle in....the clip should just fall off if not get a pair of needle nose and grab it. I have had many people bring me the diff to reinstall that s spring cause they removed it thinkin they needed to. Its a bitch to put back in.
But if you really want to get it out....get a pry bar and just pop it out.

^^^^ Push the axle in you should see it.
Best way to describe it....push the axles towards the center of the diff.....the on that broke you might have to get a long tube and a hammer to push that one it.

Like I said, you wouldn't like my way of doing it. I've changed the gears out before on an 8.8, but....I had help from a qualified mechanic....so I didn't really pay close attention since I decided I didn't like doing that because it stinks so bad.
yea push the axles in, half the time they fall out on their own. If they dont, just use a magnet extension and they will comeoff. You dont wanna fuck with that s spring!
