Electrical problem
OK,.. I figure out the mess.
Yes it was the ignition switch. No,.. it was not cause by me taking the coil lead and running it to the HEI. Seams Ford issued a recall for the 93 Mustang ignition switches in 1996. Said they could cause a fire. This car has had the entire steering column replaced. There are warrenty stickers on it and where it says "Quality Ford Rebuilt Unit". I almost laughed,.. because they could have done a better job with the ignition switch.
The spring in the ignition switch was faulty. It would bring it back to the on position,.. but would not return to the off position. Got a cheap Duralast switch from Autozone for $11. When I took the old one out,.. you could see where the plastic was coming apart from the metal side of it. I guess causing the rod to jam inside of it not letting it return to the off position.
There is a ton of wiring that has been jerry rigged in this car. I figured out what some of it is. The rest I'm sure eventually I'll figure it out.
