If your distibutor is trashed go to LKQ and spend 10-15$ and get another one. Id also grab the module that bolts to the fender that goes with it.
Just a question, but does it happen to have a toggle switch for the ignition that you have to flip to start it? If I had to take a guess that switch got let on and burnt up the distibutor

They do make separate external coil kits for HEI distributors and they generally can handle the RPM's much better then the coil in cap setups.

]there is no toggle switch but almost like it. the ignition was rigged befor i got the car. you turn the ignition to the on position and hit a puch button to start it. and im praying that the dizzy is it then. cuz it was left in the on position but i didnt think it would fry anything. at most i thought it would just drain the batterie.

If the rotor isn't turning, you have one of the following problems:

1) Timing chain broken

Or

2) dizzy gear messed up in some fasion

3) Cam gear is messed up somehow
Anything?

If there was no fuse / link in line or no longer wired through factory fuse box there is no "saftey" can burn things up if left on for extended time
If you have a test light check the 12v sources to coil w/ key on
Have checked fuses to see if the one ING is still good and not blown? HTH

you need to pull the rotor , then you take a punch and knock out the roll pin on the actual gear at the bottom. then you have to knock or pull the gear off, slide the whole shaft out from the top and you should be able to get the PIP out then
