Working on Cory's car... intake, tune and detailing a bit and dropped the damn oil pump rod into the pan (I guess)!

WTF?

Any tips other than colder beer?

 

It was missing the keeper? Pull the pan and retrieve it,theres no easy answer

Drain oil...cut access panel in oil pan... retrieve rod... repair oil pan using panel adhesive...wait proper curing time for adhesive...purchase new oil pan and install.

 

Or if you think it fell some where towards the front yank the timing cover off and see if you can fish it out

 

Ok, stop the presses....Here is the REAL way to fix this problem...It's a bit labor intensive, but...here it is anyway:

1: Obtain screwdriver from tool box
2: use said screw driver to open beer
3: drink said beer
4: now, use screwdriver to punch drain hole in oil pan
5: get new beer
6: drink said beer
7: get new beer
8: get socket and ratchet from toolbox
9: drink new beer
10: get beer
11: open beer
12: remove oilpan
13: drink beer
14: get beer
15: get oilpump pushrod out of oil pan
16: drink beer
17: get beer
18: get JB weld
19: drink beer
20: mix JB weld
21: get another beer
22: apply JB weld to hole in oil pan
23: drink beer
24: get another beer
25: drink beer while waiting for JB weld to harden
26: reinstall oil pan
27: get beer
28: piss in oil filler tube
29: drink beer
30: pass out


When you have finishd, your motor will run like ass because you filled it with piss.

No easy way to do it mang. If you can't get it with a telescopic magnet, then your fuxored.

 

if you hadn't already got it you could use the idea above (sans piss) and put the bung for a turbo or supercharger where you punched the hole in the oil pan

then have one of the esteemed professionals on the board install the power adder as you drink beer!
