Poll: bonding adhesive vs welding
I am doing some bodywork on my '65 falcon and need to know if it were to be better to weld in a patch panel or use bond adhesive....Eastwood co carries a bonding adhesive that is good up to 250 degrees....Just wanted to see what you all thought

Here is the story unfortunately....my dad in the early 90's put in a sunroof, yes a sunroof....I found a donor roof and primed up the metal, cut out the sunroof patch, and am ready to install....bought the eastwood company no weld panel repair kit to fix it....everything fits fine I just want to make sure this bitch isn't going to warp like hell....there is a rib that goes below that I am going to reinstall
I've done research on this for my own bodywork project. Most experts these days are using the bonding and NOT welding. Repeated tests have shown that the bond is stronger than the surrounding metal. There are videos of people pulling bonded sheetmetal apart and ripping the metal before the glue gives way.
It is by no means a "shortcut", its preferred over welding, especially for external sheetmetal, because you don't introduce heat into the metal causing warping.
