Default 0D Light flashing

The OD off light on my 2002 ford explorer sport. I turned the car off and then back on and it stopped. any idea as to what this can be? any help would be great.

Yes. The OD off light is used like a 'Check Engine' light for the trans. You probably have some stored tranny codes about something. Pull the codes and see what is up. If you need more specific help, PM me.

my 03 did that, i had to get a rebuild. i was able to get the dealer to pay 1/3, ford paid 1/3 and i paid 1/3, got it rebuilt for 600 out of pocket
