Heads up Madness Rules
I know i've been out of it for 2 years or so, but I had no where near 50k into my pile, realistically probably 25-30 that i had invested over a number of years (including FFW builds, multiple motors, wheels, etc...)
My first few hits with the car the second season (new cam designed by rob and some other work done, etc) we were @ 5.40s sorting it out and it had 5.20s in it all day if I could get it down the track straight.. now I know it's a ways away from where we are today, but that was 2+ years ago on a single stage fogger setup.
I didn't have high dollar trick suspension parts, it was very basic.. yes, you can buy the best out there and spend a ton of coin, but it's not required.
so in a long way around to answer your question, no I don't think it's a 100k class.. it aint cheap but no where near 100k, i think 50k is still way out, but i'm sure someone could spend the money to build a car for that...
racing ain't cheap, never will be and we all know the faster you want to go the more money it's going to cost.. build what you want, spend what you want, if you're competitive in a class then cool, if you want to just go fast then you've achieved your goal.. and that is all that should matter.
