then run stock suspension, you might not win but you can go as fast as you want every time.. and if someone were to build a 100k race car to win 800 dollars per race well..

too many rules create too many problems..

do you not agree that a competitive "stock suspension" car is in the neighborhood of 100k?
maybe im way outta line on my way of thinking here

I think you are damn close and at the same time why should a "stock" anything race be that way ? Because many tracks and promoters let it happen without worrying what it will do to them in the long run. Look at FFW and NMRA as perfect examples of shit getting out of hand on almost every level and people walking away.

Build your car for what you want it to do and if it fits somewhere then so be it. If you want to go class racing just know in advance that most heads up non index racing is way out of hand for the regular person.

But you know this happens. Maybe they did not set out to build for this type of class or someone buys a $100k car for a lot less and goes racing with it in these types of races. Thus screwing it for anyone trying to go have fun on a realistic budget.

We use to run to win $1,000 at East Bay and other TBARA tracks with a $60k sprint car with two $25k spare motors that we never used. ( Fords BTW )

I have been amazed for years on how a race that pays $1,000 - $2,500 will bring high dollar cars out of the woodwork. I have had this very conversation with friends many times. It just goes to show if you are in it for the money you are already in trouble. Racing is a loosing proposition to the vast majority but the small chance of winning a few grand will get many people to go out and possibly tear up there $50k - $100K+ race cars. It is quite the phenomenon and something I will never quite understand.
