Well to get to that number is not going to be all that cheap. To get to that power level your gonna need heads, cam, and an intake. Then probably still need to hit it with some sort of power adder.
And hope the motor stays together. The 94/95 5.0L bottom ends dont come with the strongest pistons.

i have a sn 95 5.0 with trick flow heads and meth kit vortec super charger running 12 psi and (shit load of other mods ) sct tune i put 340 to the wheels!(around 475 hp at the motor) now i have a aode2 auto tranny that sucks a shit load of power
from the wheels. to get 340 rwhp we sent about $7000 in mods . (because its a pos sn 94-95 , motor good all the computer shit sucks!)

there has to be a LOT more power left in that combo.
wait till u start moding the sn 95 they suck!!!! remember i have an aode 2 tranny i am losing around 30% to the wheels t5 tranny only looses around 10 % i think .
475 hp at motor (est) - 30 %(Est) = 340 rwhp!

A c4 might be a better option for you. They tend not to rob as much horsepower as the AOD's

The '94-'95 computers suck.
'94+ are pigs so put that thing on a diet.
Get some 4.10s and a sticky tire
Get a baseline of how the car runs now so you don't feel so bad when you sink some money into it and expect an impressive ET but dont get it. You'll have the baseline, so you can see the difference.
With the cons aside, if you really like the body style, you won't mind doing what it takes to get the number you want. If you want easy, these years aren't the best choice.
