Dont see were that would give him ground clearence, considering that wishbone hangs down 5" below the housing. I think it was done for ricer reasons

 

I know on the S197 GTR concept it was done for clearance as a side exhaust with road racing setup did not have enough clearance. Since my plan for my 08 is a Full Griggs GR40 setup and an NA aluminum 5.4L to road race, I was considering the same setup. I just need to research the fuel cell mounting and how the pipes will run

 

the rear part of the torque arm is lower yes, however since the low part is attached to the rear axle it cant hit the ground on sompression. also with the Panhard wet up you have a very hard time running eshaust past that.

Why not run a flat exhaust like NASCAR does?? They sit a hell of a lot lower then that Stang does.

Actually running NASCAR style exhaust was the first thoughts I had also.. however, I chose to go the cost effective way..
