is it hard to make a Focus ZX3 fast?
i have never seen a local one really done up other than the one at Brandon Motorsports

Ford SVO puts out a package w/ a supercharger that puts out like 300+ hp. Also Steeda was running one down at Moroso that was quick as hell.

i was out there hanging w/ all the ricers. did you run w/ the grand national?
i got a new mod on the way should be in in about a week. i will keep you updated.

You can make them fast but it costs some serious cash. Im in the process of returning mine to stock so I can get shit fixed under warranty...and then trade it in a year or so from now.

Also...SVO doesnt make a blower kit. So far JacksonRacing is the only to offer a supercharger for the Focus. Unfortunately the blower has some issues in that it produces very little low end contrary to what a roots blower should be doing. Adding a smaller pulley results in huge differences in boost along the rpms. One big stumbling block for forced induction on the Zetec is a returnless fuel system and no upgrades to increase fuel besides DFI systems by companies such as Haltech which cost thousands of dollars.

There are a couple of turbo Foci out in California that run about 12psi of boost and are predicted to run well into the 13s and possibly the 12s. By some miracle of god the stock motor is still hanging on under all this abuse.

It is possible.

1) Get rid of the stock tranny. They were designed for MPG not racing. The Zx-2 tranny is better suited for racing but it is not as strong as the MTX (stock Focus tranny).

2) Let the car breath with an air filter chip and exhaust. The Focus also needs more fuel but most chips will take care of that. I have a dyno sheet around that showed 14+ hp from the above mods.

3) Buy the Esslinger stage II head. They have seen 40+ hp from this set-up. They shave the head to increase cr p&p the passages inrease valve size and add their cams.

You will drop at lease $2000.00 but you will dip into the low 14s and *maybe* the high 13s with 14 wheels and good rubber.

I would stay away from the supercharger system for now. They dont have the fuel problem figured out yet! The car leans out up high. Some independent tuners are working on chips right now to resolve this.

oh i dont have a focus nor was i plannin on gettin one i was just curious if they could be made fast...

sport compact did a turbo one it ran 15 1 what your crx does stock thats a joke why u buyin a ford famly car??? a mustang would be way easer to get into the 13s with ?
