Paul Dorn built my first c-4, worked just fine and good price to boot.

obviously many options... reason for putting a th400 in vs. a glide?

turbo has a better first gear compared to the glide but weighs a whole lot more. When I went to the glide it was the most boring ride I had but the car became consistent and was a lot easier on tires and leaving. Glide you have to have just the right converter and maybe a steeper gear with if I remember right a 168 first gear or was it 186 first gear.

don't remember the gear I had in mine, Joe would know.
However with 1.29 short times it was anything but boring!
Thanks for the info on the TH400, never looked into them before.

Update to this:

Leaning towards a TH400 because I will not have to change a few other things on the car.

In the mean time I am heading out now to pick up some tractor fluid to use in the trans to get the fluid temp and holding of the bands back for a few more passes.

Thanks for the FYI.

The guy that builds my tranmissions has been doing it for me for 10 + years and 25 years overall. Never have had one fail yet. I am just burning through the bands quickly from a lot of TQ being put on them. Nothing has failed and the parts we used on the rebuild were all top of the line, I am just way beyond what any C4 can take.

I guess it is not to bad of a problem to have at the end of the day. Just makes me wonder how much quicker the car would be right now if the bands in the trans could hold 100%.
