Arrow Ford Forum Project Car Update Thread

No this is not another Frankenstang.

Seems like there have been a lot of projects ( short and long term ) under way in here so how about a update from everyone ?

Tell us what you are working on, what you have completed, what you have left, and your goal for the car.

Pictures of any of this would be great too.

Have at it !

I guess I will start if off.

Recently just finished putting together and installed the 347 for my 91 coupe. Working on the suspension now, then moving on to the cage, then after that installing all the nitrous.

As for ChrisN1313's car I have all the motor parts sitting on the work bench. Just got to find time to put everything together.

Both are nitrous cars and are going to be set up to run 6.50's in the 1/8

Speaking of Frankie...

I just got the car back from $hawn, and we've got brakes finally. Wound up with an SN95 all wheel disc setup.

Now my gas tank was sent off to have the sump welded in, and I should have that back this week sometime, along with the new spring perches (tops of the coilovers) that were missing from the car when it was put together. Those pieces should be here from the fabricator this week.

Then it's back to All American so that Shaun & I can try and get the fuel system bought and installed. Once that's rocking, there are a tons of small loose ends that have to be finished and chased down, but we'll at least be ready to fire the car, and see what kind of gremlins we're going to have (if any)...

That's about it for now... Hoping the car is together, tested, and ready for TRack Day in '08!! Hoping also to run deep 11's, high 10's on motor. We'll see

Well, my "long term" project is getting closer. I have my motor, a 348ci dart sportsman with tfs hi-ports and cam. I have all new front coil over suspension and tubular K member/A-arms, brakes, wheels, manual rack and caster camber plates. As for the rear, it is at the shop now getting built. It's getting narrowed 6" or 3" per side with 9" flanges, 35 splines, spool and 3:55s. He's doing a custom rear brace and girdle and I just talked to him about an hour ago and he is going to put in a chrome moly 1350 pinion yoke. I ordered my rear brakes and wheels so it wont be long and I can get this car down off the jack stands finally!

I will still have to have the AODE built by Fernando at Transmission Physicians, he claims he can build it tuff enough so I'm going to try that. So I will also need a converter, shifter flexplate etc.

I still need a complete fuel system, intake, tb, etc. I have a FAST system already but I'm sure there's a headache and a half waiting on me there!

Then I have to get the rear suspension, anti-roll bar, chassis stiffened etc yet to do.

Damn, maybe I'm not 3/4 of the way done yet.... I need one Advil, one scotch, one beer....

EDIT: I forgot to add in that I've got an HP stage 3 turbo kit....that I'm going to have to modify...-(thanks alot $hawn! )

Well my car is still in pieces. The painter decided he didn't want to paint it anytime soon so that left me looking to move it to another shop but that hasn't really worked out as at this point it is a big job.

Currently the car has no motor/trans, interiors is mostly empty including rear interior panels. It's basically a mostly stripped roller.

Plans are:
Interior-
carpet with sound deadner in it
new windshield
new lighting with rewired sockets using relays (on svo's this is big as the parts are somewhat hard to get without giving up a testy)
nice new cd/mp3 player with an intergrated sub
Lock actuators and more relays for locks and windows

Exterior-
New hatch and doors
full paint
Rims--sometime next year
Brakes--shortly after the car runs for a bit

motor-
Had the old head flowed and was disapointed.
Look for more port work and a bigger cam
new bigger turbo
new computer system/harness
Add a/c to my street car!

So far I have done the following
Built new short block
ported turbine housing and had coated
preped engine bay for paint
got new clutch setup ready to run

Have left-
Reassembly of interior and top half of the motor.
Install new ems and wiring
create/design new a/c set up
rewire the doors/lights

The goal is to make the car faster then before while adding a/c and a stereo system. Also going to have a nice looking engine bay with powder coated and ceramic coated parts.

I would like to have the car out at the track before feb 1 <--- wish me luck as I got along ways to go.
