Ford Forum Project Car Update Thread
I've had the '84 SSP for about 9-months now. Haven't been able to accomplish much since most of my money is spent gathering parts. We ditched the single exhaust for an off-road h-pipe and MAC Pro Dumps. The carburator was replaced with a Holley 570 Street Avenger and a new Carter mechanical pump was installed at the same time.
Only a few more parts to gather before I can finish up my SN95 suspension/brake upgrade. Hopefully I can get the suspension done in 2-3 months. After that I need to address the rust areas and finally swap out the trunk lid for the brand NOS Ford lid I have sitting in my closet. After the rust I'll start the motor build...probably an Explorer motor with an E or B cam and possibly some work to the heads.

I have a good running 86 coupe 5.0 5spd, 4:10's that I want to be a daily driver. Cold a/c, p/s runs great. So I want to take it apart to do something. Carb and nitrous, or supercharger or maybe a turbo car. Maybe a well built aod, carb, nitrous, or aod, efi, turbo. 3:55's or just leave the 4:10's. leave the Cobra rims on it or big and littles. Corner carver or straight line demon. So thats the direction I want to go

Kailuaz & Adrenalin - I'm having a friend of mine do the welding on the tank. He's a very good friend, and I owe him dinner, and the cost of the aluminum welding rods.
Other than that, I've heard that it runs $50-$150 depending on where you go. From what I understand, John (Tiffiny) can do aluminum welding
for sure though.

I picked up this ol maverick with a 170 ci/ 4 speed

Ditched the 85 hp six for a V8

It was a lonnng project.
All new suspension= bushings and parts.
All new brakes,lines, etc
Disc brakes and 5 lug up front.
Posi rear 5 lug
subframe connected
Aluminum driveshaft and loop
Custom pedal assembly for 5 speed
Aluminum rad
Interior =carpet,seats,steer wheel,shifter etc.
And a boatload of other misc required to bring an old car back to like-new.

Pretty much complete. Ive been driving her around now.I just need to add tailpipes over axle and some minor things.
