is there a proper and inproper way to hang a crank. Im saving money to take my block to the shop to get checked and i wanted to know whats the best way to hang up so it doesnt warp. burn me if ya want but i cant find anything on it.

on which end? flywheel??? i just moved and had it in a box and have seen or read somewhere that it shouldnt lay flat because of the weights, but hanging it was better

 

Obviously flat side down. standing on the snout is probably going to topple over

I think the proper way is to put the knot for the noose on the side. That way it makes for a quick snap in the area of C7. OTOH, if you're pissed and feeling like you need a little revenge, put the knot in the back and go for some slow stragulaion. Additionally, you can untie the hands and feet for a little more kicking entetainment.
