Default 99-04 8.8 Width?

Need to confirm this information:

Is the 99-04 Mustang 8.8 rear .75" longer on either side than the previous 8.8's? Any idea if the width of the 99-04 8.8 is the same as the IRS width? Can't seem to find any reputable sources online to confirm this information.

Thinking about calling it quits on the IRS swap for now. With the front suspension and wheel combo I'm planning on using, the IRS width is what I am looking to obtain...so I think the 99-04 GT 8.8 will match that width.

Thanks.

Thanks for the info.

If anyone knows of any 99-04 8.8's for sale.....please let me know. I'm looking to buy.

Calling it quits on the IRS swap for the time being. I daily drive the car and there are too many variables which may put the car down for an extended period of time mid-swap.

Have you tried to PM JDL1000? I believe he has (or had) the IRS in his car. Maybe he can give you some 411 on the swap. I'd say stick with the IRS swap man - it'd be trick, and super fun to drive on in the Fox Coupe.

Best of luck either way bud!

I agree it would be a sweet swap, but I just ordered a complete 8.8 out of a low mileage '03 GT. Too many variables that could ground my daily driver. I'll run the 8.8 swap for a while until I can afford to take the car off the road to do the IRS swap properly. A bonus to this whole thing is I'll have a perfect rear-end to trade for an IRS when the time comes.
