Default V6 Mustang Question..

If a 6 Cylinder Mustang were to have Headers and Flowmasters, would it have that deep V8 sound? I see alot of Mustangs around that sound pretty good, but theyre not GT's. I dont know much about Fords, but its something I've been wanting to find out. Thanks.

A buddy had a 99 V6 with Intake, Flow masters, and a jet chip paired with a 5speed transmission and it sounded pretty good almost like a stock GT. His ran a 14.9 or 15.0 one day at the track too.

i've heard some pretty nice sounding v6 mustangs, but it takes more then just exhaust.

It's some what possible with the right exhaust setup. I seen a guy on one of the v6 stang sites did it. He had a cam with heads though IIRC. Try searching v6power.net Also, search the sites they link to.

exactly. it's quite possible, but it's going to take exhaust AND at the bare minimum, a cam too.

When I had the v6 in my car, I had just a cat back and a intake. It didnt have a H or X crossover so it was just a set of flowmasters. It sounded much better than other v6's Ive heard.

supersix motorsports sells most of the performance stuff they have one running 11's and, they sound good if you use split port heads and intake from windstar, with x pipe and flowmasters, other than that they sound like a one balled cow getting kicked in the scrot.
