8.8 axle question ...

Question 8.8 axle question ...

Need to swap axles within an 8.8 for Cory's tri-color car.

How is this done within the differential area?

pull the wheels off.

pull the drums off.

remove rear cover.

push axle 1 in, pull clip

slide out

do the other

slide out.

install reverse of disassembly

yeah that about sums it up....

with the addition of removing the 5/16th's bolt holding in the shaft running through the differential.

remove this bolt, then remove the shaft. otherwise you will not be able to push in the axles to expose the c-clips...

Ah hah, I thought I heard of something in there ... pin or sumpin'.

Probably on this journey tomorrow --- new gears (3.73) for Cory's tri-color.

its not hard at all. you just have to deal with the nasty ass smell of gear oil
