I had the same issue with my SVT Focus after running a K&N for about 10k miles. Took the sensor out of the housing, sprayed it down with some electrical cleaner until no more dirty cleaner was coming off the sensor, let it dry, then reinstalled. Solved all of my idle issues.

Did it and it seemed to cure a bit of the problem. Still kinda slugish at times. I use an ITG filter which is foam and use very very little oil so I'm going to keep using it the same way. A few roads I drive have had serious construction on them lately so it may just be the amount of dirt on them that caused it.

How long does it take to reset an ECU when you kill the battery?
