Went to Sunshine with new mufflers. Old Flowmasters went 103 mph in the 1/8. New Dynomax Ultraflow Welded went 109 mph in the 1/8 with no other changes to the car.

Just a street 92 LX hatch with power everything and tailpipes. Heavy car for sure. Just saying that the flowmasters were killing me.

 

what do you have done to the car man thats fast

 

6 mph with new mufflers? just want to make sure i understood that correctly.

! cant imagine that you would see more than 1-2 hp difference between the two.

 

Yeah that sounds like a pretty heavy claim.

 

Wow I guess I have alot of work to do to my car. I can only get 82 to 83 mph in the 1/8.

 

Maybe temp change at the track?

 

thats why im asking whats done because 109 is flying like real low 7s and 6 mph from mufflers i just dont see it happening

 

Air density, cooler temp, track surface, car just feeling good for some reason, there has to be other factors than just mufflers... I would almost believe it if it was a mod motor. Mod motors absolutely HATE flowmasters.

 

I learned somthing new today. I had no idea mod motors and flowmasters don't work well together. I have flowmasters on mine now. What should I go with?

 

^ Never heard that before either, but I don't like the sound of anything but Flowmasters. That's what I had on my mod motor, making 500 to the wheels. *shrug*
