Question Manual Brakes Who Has Them Or Has Had Them ?

Going off my other thread I drove the car for the first time in a long time today and the first ever with manual brakes. Man they suck !

Is it supposed to take a lot of foot pressure to stop them ?

And since it has been so long since I put them on someone remind me why I did .. Why are we supposed to run manual brakes or whats the advantage supposed to be ? My brain is to fried today to remember.

If I have to buy that to make it right I am going to be breaking my foot off in someones ass. The Skiny Kid kit I got was SUPPOSED to be all that was needed. Brakes have never been my thing, I have relied to much on others for advice in this and have not done enough of my own usual homeowrk on them.

Thanks for the link.

I am still looking for input from other that have manual or use to have manual brakes.

I have them on my 92. Not bad at all. I just have to remember I'm driving with manual brakes. Oh yeah DON"T tailgate!!!LOL

The reason my car has manual brakes is because the motor produces next to no vacuum. And it's cheaper then a vacuum pump.

Pretty much the same as the above though ?

If so remember how much ?

And I assume it repositions the pedal for better feel ? Any type of regulator or proportioning valve with it ?

The kit came with the car. But it costs $149.00 The aerospace kit comes with the master and all related parts. The pedal is repositioned.
I'll have to check and see if it has a proportioning valve. The cars at the shop, so I'll have to get back to ya on thurs.

Pretty much the same here.

What concerns me is little pedal travel and two feet to who it down from 45 today. Can't imagine 140+
