i have the whole car now. im going to get a V6 motor from the yard, pull out the old and put in the new. that shouldnt take me no more than a day. im not changing anything. stock for stock.
I can have my car in a drivable state. Within 2 hours doing it on my back by myself, i can have the tranny sitting next to the car. Give me another about 3 hours or less and the engine will be sitting in front of the car on a stand.

If you have every possible thing you could need, i say a week is doable busting your a$$.

Wiring is the most time consuming thing. I found it pretty easy though at the same time. (Using factory stuff that is)

If you think it's easier, then i'm not sure you understand the scope of things.

Unless you are doing a extremely simple setup, (which if so, i would like to know your method of attack) i dont see it happening in a shorter time frame.

Stupid me, just noticed you are talking about a factory engine swap now. Then yes you are correct. Should take a day or less. As long as everything is assembled on the long block. Just remember it takes longer to put it in then it does to take it out. ..Thats multipurpose to

Good luck.

Dont know if you missed it or what, (see sig) Ryan and i swaped in cobra 4V motors.

ive done many swaps but never a mustang. i understand how the bullshit can happen.

if i had everything i need how much would you charge to swap it?

also keep you eyes open for a v6 motor.

i didnt see any in the JY. but i did see many tbirds with the 3.8 v6. is this the same exact motor? also which years of the tbird motor will swap DIRECTLY into my 96??

When i blew my 6er i did'nt have much luck finding anythingforr a decent price around here.

Check these guys out. Great place, you would have to have it shipped though.
MPS Auto Salvage, Inc. - Products - Engines

Swaping the 6er should be a cake walk. Their is ton of room to work around it and it doesnt have anything really to it.

Not sure. Post or search on v6power.net I'm sure you can find you answer over their.

Their is slight differences like the cam timming sensor that varies from year to year. So be careful of that.

What year is your car? You may want to consider swaping in a 99+ motor. They have a better intake(more power).

How To 4.6 Swap a 3.8 - 3.8 Mustang Message Board It's defaintly not worth it, just keep the V6. If you want more power you can get an M90(the blower that comes on T-birds), you can find kits on Ebay pretty cheap. And people with just that and bolt-on's are running high 13's/low 14's with open differentials w/ 2.73's and shitty flowing stock single port motors.

96's are fine, it's the 94-95's that had the issue.
