Default Desperate help needed, plz read...

Hey, i have a cousin named charlie schindler who just went back to the army after being back for about 2 weeks. He starts AIT in 2 weeks, so he'll be gone for about another 6 months or so before he comes back.
Well, heres the deal, he has a 1993 Ford Mustang 4 cyl, with a wrecked ass left side and a little bit of fading on the paint. Its an auto, AOD, and i am almost 100 percent sure its an 8.8. The car is in awesome shape other than that 1 side, and i know how to do body work(the profesional way), so thats not an issue, it will just be time consuming. What he has wanted to do with that car is swap a 302 in it, and i would like to do that for him as a surprise when he gets back. Me and him have always been like bro's, and hes always lent me a hand whenever i needed it, so i want to repay him. I would like to have at least 275 hp, which i know is easily attainable, but i dont want it stroked, or blown, and no nitrous will touch this car. I want it streetable, dependable, carbed or fi, i dont care. It needs to get at least 12 mpgs and i would prefer it to have ac. Now, i would like someone else to do all the mechanical work. Can i do it? yes, do i have time? no, money? yes, to a point. I would like to pay someone for all of the work, as i work to much to be able to do it. I dont mind using a used long block, or other components as long as they work.

Please give any advice, suggestions, or offers you have on the table and we can see if we can work something out. And i dont want to hear get a new one, cause its a family car since it had 7 miles on it. i would appreciate any help i can get, and if you do help, i would love to have you there when i give him the car. Its in my posession now, lmk....

put a nice set of heads on it with say an "F" cam and i made 325hp. The swap can be pretty involved. your tralking wiring, suspension, fuel, exhaust, etc, etc....SOOOOOOOO much easier and affordable to start with a 5.0

It might be easier to start with a 5.0 but this isn't your run of the mill 4 cylinder. It's a car that has alot of history and the sentimental value can't be replaced. So considering that just take it to any of the local speed shops and tell them what you want. This swap isn't a new thing so figure what you want (you already did) how much you want to spend(you didnt say a number) and then start calling. Any of the well known shops in the area are capable of doing it.

Well...you're asking for a lot outta that little motor without wanting to do some turbo work on it....I mean it can do it..but can it do it and still maintain driveability/reliability...I dunno.

I've read this line about 17 times and can't understand why this is anything BUT a run of the mill 4cyl?

Kinda be fun to do some sort of soldier appreciation, community kumbaya, overhaulin', everybody pitches in, reason to stay out late, buddies get together drink beer sort of thing - but then I saw Plant City.....

That line explains it all. Besides the 4 cylinder car is still cheaper on insurence.

Guess I was trying to actually help rather then telling him the same thing that everyone who doesn't care about what he actually asked.

Vip he said swap a 302 in it. You must have missed that part.

why even put insurance on the vehicle? you won't be covered if something happens. As soon as your insurance company finds out your frauding them they will drop you before you can say anything. Why put all that money into it unless you are going to have your expensive parts covered? Sorry, that statement just ALWAYS bugs the piss outta me...

Cheers!
