You didn't shoot a pistol in boot camp. You shot an M-16 chambered in 7.62 NATO rounds that kicks like a .22LR rifle. Nothing spectacular. I have a buddy in the Marines who got a marksmanship award...he was no better than I am with pistols, and only slightly better with low caliber rifles (since civillian rifles kick hella more than an M-16).

 

Actually we never touched the m-16 in boot camp i shot the beretta 9mm that is now out of service. So i got an "S" for shooting the pistol and missing perfect by 2 points, then when i got to my first unit you get another ribon for Passing the rifle course, you earn the "S" or "E" if you shoot almost perfect to perfect!!! We have since switched to the sig 229 as my side arm and i also carry the m-16 that kicks like a .22lr and a remington tactical shotgun w/ 14" barrel, pistol grip, and halo sight. So not to be a dick but yeah i know what my ribbons are for and what i shoot and how i shoot. Getting the ribbon is nothing getting an "S" or "E" and keeping it thats another story.

 

Waitaminute, just what the hell are you? Who trains with the 'home invasion' shotgun and pistols in boot? I swear to god I'm going to shit a brick if you say 'army'.

 

Not that i'm trying come off hard but i'm in the Coast Guard, we shoot an array of weapons, from 50 cal sniper rifels out of helo's, to less than lethal. When i left my ship I was the .50 cal captain for my gun, so i shoot alot of stuff and i'm not gonna blow smoke up your ass about what i've shot and what i havent. My point was i know what i shot I didnt need someone to tell me or anyone what it was.

 

Ooooh, Coast guard, that changes it all! I was scratching my head like "What the fuck, nobody trains with the shotguns and only officers train with the pistols!" That makes sense, then. Sorry about the discrepency, for some reason I thought you were a Marine.

 

Nope no marine, but now i see where you were coming from its cool. I just saw the post and was like what the fuck he's telling me what i carry and what i've shot. I know people on here have to blow themselves up and make shit up, but eventually it'll all come out in the end and i've got nobody to impress.
