I work at Best Buy for tax purposes....

 

I do AutoCAD design and engineering for a company that builds travel cases. We design for audio, video, lighting, sports, racing, anything.

 

i was gonna go to school for this for 18 months and then my friends mom (she owns her own successful engineering business) was gonna hiring me straight out of school starting me at 50k a year.. but i dont know if i could work for her..



do you like doing that though? does it stay interesting or do you get bored going to do the same shit everyday?

I love doing AutoCAD work. I'm a very technical person and this allows me to be technical, without being 100% hands-on (no ditch digging). I'm sortof a project manager really. I consult with the customer to get their needs, find specs on the equipment we are working with, design the case, then follow it through production to make sure its built how I wanted it.

My last AutoCAD job I designed kitchens for hotels and restaurants. That was also cool because I was also working with customers, architects, reps from the equipment mfr's, state departments, etc. I left because the guy I worked for was a dick, but I did like the work.

I went to HCC and took their AS course for AutoCAD work. It was easy to get a job after that. I make decent money for not having to get a degree, and being new to the field.

 

Road based Forklift Mechanic, repairing all makes and models (electric, gas, diesel, and lpg).

 

I sand and buff out new paint jobs on high end rv's.

 

And I just want to announce to everybody that I helped get my first employee fired today, further enhancing the enjoyment I get from my job.
