Default NPT to AN conversion

alright, im plumbing my fuel system and im doing one last rundown before i put it all in... i have 3/8 to -8 fittings for my pump and for my carb feed, for the life of me i want to say these are bottle necks because i thought the -8 was supposed to be 1/2"...but the fittings im lookin at, the 3/8 side looks larger? does someone know where i can get a chart or something with a run down of the npt and AN sizes?

take you AN number over 16 and thats your size in inches. -4 is 1/4" -6 is 3/8", -8 is 1/2", a-10 is 5/8", -12 is 3/4"

Are you sure you have -8 fittings? Ill go look and see if i happen to have one here.

The -8 side should be at least the same size as the 3/8, it depends on what brand the fittings are though.

yea, they are still packaged, says 3/8 to -8AN...when i say the sizes look off, the inside diameter looks off. the bore on the 3/8 npt side is physically larger then the bore on the -8AN side.

Maybe compare it to a known -8, maybe a -6 was accidently packaged as a -8

all the AN sides fit on all of the fittings...and the "3/8" threads into my pump and filter...and they are advertised as 3/8 in/out

This is normal. -8 is advertised as a 3/8. but it is slightly differant.
