Default Any Ford Tech's Here???

I need to swap my instrument cluster over to one with a tach. Ford stores the mileage in two spots: the cluster and the PCM. Both operate independenly of each other so when I swap over to a new cluster I will start back at zero (car currently has about 200 miles). Just for warranty sake, I'd like to have the new cluster programmed with my current mileage. I've been told some Ford dealerships can do this, while others cannot.

So I'd like to confirm this information with any Ford Techs/Mechanics who may post here....can you program an instrument cluster to the current mileage on the car? If so, what would the cost be and how long would it take?

Thanks for your help.

i did the same thing when i had my 05 foci, when you order the new cluster they ask for your milage, so you just add a bit too what youve got when you order it. also they will have to program the cluster once you get it, theyll probabley charge you an hour of labor to program it. if you odnt get it programed, warning lights will say on for things like abs, traction control, and what ever other items you may not ave on the car.

Good to know. Which dealership did you have this done at? What was your total cost for the cluster and reprogramming?
