Default Cam

I got the 393 dyno'd. It put up some great numbers. No I am not going to share, I don't want to deal with people saying my numbers are bullcrap. The shop the built the motor said the cam I am using isn't letting the heads breathe. I am running a Comp Magnum 280H cam with 1.7 RR's. The math comes out to .544 lift. But they said the Duration is too small. What cam do you pushrod guys use or what would you recommend?

Some specs
Performer RPM 2.02/1.64 with some port work done
393cid
Flat top forged pistons with oversized valve reliefs
About to step up to a Victor jr intake from my Torker 2

let's see 13hp for $300 or 10hp for $1000 hhmm...(comparing the thread with the honda video)

"I'll take the 13hp for $300 Alex"

Sorry to hijack the thread "boss" but had to make the comparison because I DO NOT believe in imports!

Good luck with the cam find.

358 to 411 doesn't equal 13! more like 53hp for $300. nice!

I am still trying to learn as much as I can about the roller cam conversion for my engine. Do they sell a complete retrofit kit?

just remember to ask how its on the valvetrain. some rollers ramp up fast and its hard on the valves and springs. they usually make a little more power but in decline in longivity. If they dont know if it is, and they should know. rule of thumb is by the valve adjustment. Most hard hitting roller's will have loose clearance's on the valves 28 to 30 and above. smooth action rollers are tight 22 range. just a lil guidelines.
