Fox Radiator and Fan Recommendations?
YES! I GOT THE FUCKIN POS RUNNING. I actually drove it around the block, which was cool except for by the time I got back in the garage it was at 250 and belching steam like an 1800's era train.
The car has
-302, .030 over, trw flat tops
-Ported TFS street heat iron heads, unknown chamber volume(so I have no idea what the CR is).
-X cam
-Vortech intake manifold on ported truck lower
-Vortech S trim
-1 3/4 long tubes, more than adequate fuel, 36lb low impedence injectors, standalone EFI(not that i think any of this line matters).
I need a radiator and fan recommendation. How are the plastic aluminum motorsport radiators?? Price is right. And since they gotta be a factory issue for something, anyone know what it is?
Fanwise, looking for options too. For 15 years I been hearing Taurus fans, so I got one and the bitch wont fit around the water pump. Stock mechanical fan is a pain in the dick because of the blower pulley and belt.
I have an Autozone 16" in there and its not doing shit apparantly.

For the MkVIIIfan you need to trim all the way around and flatten the lip to the radiator. As for the radiator, I use a Summit/Northern Radiator, works well, and cost just right. But the taurus fan is a great fan as well.

What modifications do you have to do to get the taurus fan to fit correctly?

20" 95+ Crown Vic fan. Pulls less than 25 amps and moves a massive amount of air.

what i do with fan is cut the factory mounting brackets on both sides.flip the fan up side down, cut two notchs in the bottom of fan housing so it will mount on the factory hangers on the radiator.as for the top you will have to make two small brackets to mount it to the top if the radiator.what i did is make two L brackets, drilled both ends of it and poprevet one end to the top of fan,and nut and bolt the other end to the radiator.i you use the stock radiator you will have to notch the middle of the fan so it clears the center bar on the radiator.also mount the fan as far over towards the battery as possibly so it clears the water pump pulley.i am running these combo on my 89 coupe with the stock rad 160degree theromstat,my car stays under a 150 with the a/c on.the car has alot of mods to it is not all stock.i will try to get picks to you soon.

Well, I ended up ordering a Ron Davis rad from Downs. 230 plus shipping.
Fan wise Im going to see if I can get this Taurus fan to work. Last night I took off the blade and noticed I can stack under the bolts that hold the fan to the shroud to push the motor closer to the radiator, making more room between the motor and the water pump pulley.
Guess I will see how that works out, and if it dont I will look into getting the 90s Crown Vic fan, although I thought all those cars had mechanicals?
