I have the shop manual for a 93, but I have an 89. I gotta pull the dash out now, and Im wondering how different it is for the 89 vs the 93? I can see some slight differences by looking at the dash in my 93, but not sure how much different the process is.

yeah, Im somewhat lost and a little hesitant at this point. Im used to dashboards in VWs, and those you take everything off the dash pad(switches, controls, etc) and remove the dash pad with the entire wiring harness still in the car. I tried this with my 87 and Im amazed I ever got the bastard back together again. It wasnt until I did my 97 F150 dash that I realized alot of Ford dashes come out somewhat assembled...

So, can I pretty much use this 93 manual as a guide for my 89?

 

I'd say its going to be similar enough that you can figure it out. I know the plugs are different between those years but other than that it shouldn't be much different.
