Default Learning to hate ebay Long rant

alright so if you guys noticed I'm selling a coupe (pretty cheap I think), at least everyone who sees it thinks I'm selling it cheap.
Anyways, I figured I'd do something different and sell it on ebay. what a f'in crock.
first through no fault of ebay, my roadrunner goes down, I get a lot of emails waiting to bid until I answer questions, can't get on line until someone has won the auction for a low reserve. So I figured, what the heck, I haven't lost money at that price, about break even counting ebays' fees. I spoke to the guy on the phone and told him everything as honest about the car as possible, and advised him it had an open clear title. (I never signed it).

Another ebayer who bid on the car calls me and tells me the winner is going to renig on his bid because he bid on and won two cars at the same time, so he offered to buy it out from under the other guy. I said, No, I don't do dirty business, I'm sure the guy is buying the car if he won the bid.

So the winning bidder shows up, likes the car, looks at the title and says it's not a legal title and he's not going to get burnt on this deal. I offered to take him to the guys house I bought it from to verify, he refused, and left. I figured, well that was stupid, went to dmv monday and put title in my name (didn't want to because it was a 2 owner title, (State of Florida and guy I bought it from ). No problem getting the title immediately.

So I relist it (more ebay fees) and a guy does the buy it now almost immediately. paypals a deposit, arranges to pick up car. Drives up in a bmw, drives the car, says he saw the oil pressure guage flicker so it has no oil pressure. I told him like every other used mustang, it probably has a loose or bad oil sending unit, if it had no oil pressure I wouldn't be driving all over the state in it, it would maybe make some bearing noise, it would smoke, or possibly even lose oil.

Then he said it wasn't what he thought it would be. I was very clear on the phone condition of the vehicle and any work it needed but he said he wouldn't buy it (I noticed him trying to buy a car on the corral after he won my bid coincidently). I asked what he expected of a 3200 5.0 5 speed coupe that needed paint work and the interior cleaned professionally and he basicly wants about a 7000 or 8000 coupe. So he says he won't follow through on his deal. I'm very unhappy, I spent over 100 bux to sell it on ebay and took it off the market 2 times for almost 3 weeks total for these yahooos.
I ever advised the guy if you're bidding on a 5.0 5 speed coupe for 3200 you're going to get a 3200 dollar car and maybe he should bid on the 8000 dollar cars. I'm just pissed right now, thinking what should I do with his deposit!

Hell, you can't get a 5.0 5 speed coupe with cold a/c and decent body and interior for this price that runs good

ps. he himself unplugged and then plugged in the oil pressure sending unit, the oil pressure is now higher than ever and doesn't move a bit when you gun the motor, just as I told him!!

yeah, I'll post up tomorrow, he had his dad call me trying to strong arm me that they were picking this car up tomorrow, I told him having his father call me was not good business and that would not get me to deal with him. However, I said I'd give him one chance to pick it up with cash tomorrow at 4 or it's still for sale, I have several people interested.

Ive heard many many stories about selling cars on ebay and little morons with no intention on buying a car bid and when they win, they pull the plug and fade into the shadows. I'll never sell a car on ebay

road rage I appreciate it, it wasn't really about selling the coupe that i'm angry, I would sell it no problem except for the ebay part!
after the loser's bid on it, I get several people trying to just buy the damn car, I put them off because I don't want to do anyone dirty because they "honestly bid on something" and I try never to screw anyone, then they back out of deals for stupid reasons.
the guy refused the deal, I told him no prob, someone would buy it so I wasn't worried
a guy (off of here) came over in an hour to look at it (want's it--and a very classy guy I might add) the original "buyer" called, said he wanted it after all, I told him to call tomorrow to see if the new looker wanted it, he got upset, had his father call me and try to 'strongarm" me to sell him the car. I told him that's not good business, I didn't renig, his son did, and I was trying to sell it in good faith to a real buyer. I also told him in all fairness I would give them one more chance to buy it sunday if the other looker either didn't want it or wanted it but was willing to give them one day...the other real buyer wants it but agreed to wait until tomorrow after their agreed upon time to pick up to come back to buy.
totally unprofessional and just plain bad business!!

Mike, you know the real deal LOL
(I finally got the baby to bed)
