How about a duratech V6? Lightweight, very revy, RWD tranny (I think the ranger 3.0 shares the bellhousing pattern). You could probably get one pretty cheap too.

Mark I also have a 87 Merkur XR4TI 2.3 Turbo. I could sell yah. Its got all ford motorsport valve train. Runs perfect. car looks damn good, would make the perfect IRS RWD drift machine....

if this thing is gonna be a whore, then im gonna just do an SR20.

though id REALLY like to go with a VQ, be so fucking hot, but so fucking expensive.

duratech 3L V6 can be a fucking beast. with a rev limitr of usuall 6700 rpm(not sure?) and and if you mate it too contour svt upper it will easily put down 275hp. then turbo the bitch muahahahah.
