gear info

ok i need a lil help i got a set of 8.8 gears for free but i dont know what they are is there i way to tell by looking at them thanks all

paul, just count the teeth on each gear, then divide the number of teeth on the ring gear by the number of teeth on the pinion gear

most have the # stamped on them

Many do, some don't. I've had original Ford that have the 3.73 on them and another 3.73 set from Ford that didn't.

Ford 8.8 gears *should* have some sort of stamping / engraving on their pinion gears. My last two sets of 3.73s did.
