I bet the crank broke and pushed the broken peice out the front. Dont ask how I know this.

I've had to pick up a crank snout with pulley still attached from the road once. Not fun. Even if the crankshaft wasn't broken you best believe it's hurt and you'd best not re-use it. If the engine was rebuilt then clearnaces were probably not within spec and that would lead to the crankshaft walking back and forth working its way to its demise.

Its late so....explain what clearances your in reference to. I was thinkin that the shortblock would be shit also

What kind of shit for brains wouls jack up a car by the crankshaft? We have a customer that put an x cam in his car and it broke the crank and split the block.

Car has an E cam in it. Would this cam affect the PTV clearence??
