Default Too much HP?

I'm wondering if I'm going to be safe with my setup on the stock block or not. Here's what she's getting: TF twisted wedge heads, track heat upper/lower intake, stage 1 cam, 1.7 rockers, Vortech S-trim w/ Anderson power pipe and different pulley(kit rated at 14psi), 38lb injectors w/80MM mass air, 70mm throttle body, 255lph fuel pump, .355 gears and other misc. stuff. Is this too much for the stock block(it's a 91' so I believe it came with forged internals)? It will be under 500hp. I could go with the same setup less the power pipe and that would put it at about 10psi. What's everyone's thoughts? Block and car only have 29k on the ticker that's why I don't want to change the block out plus $$$.

Do not be cheap when it comes to the fuel system.

with your combo you won't be much under 500 rwhp at 14 psi. thats a lot of boost for a stock short block w/ 9.x compression. i'd be more worried about a head gasket than pistons/rods at that point. 10 psi is much safer. just my opinion...

Sounds like an awesome setup. I would make sure you have forged pistion's in the motor with the blower and all. Good luck with the setup!!!

That is what my main concern is, the head gasket. Will O ringing the heads help?

What HP do you think it will be pushing at 10psi? I want a combo that is safe on the block and I'm leaning more to the 10lbs without the power pipe. I was also going to use the 38lb injectors w/a 80mm mass air, should I bump it down to 36lb injectors or stay with 38's?

First, go with 42lbs and no FMU!

He is my current setup on the coupe....
Stock 2000 Explorer bottom end,
GT40 heads with the exhaust ports opened up,
Eldebrock Performer Upper and lower Intake,
E cam,
1.7 rockers,
Paxton Novi 1000
-- with Morphesus Power Pipe and
-- F150 lower pulley (about 10 lbs),
42lb injectors,
Pro-M 80mm mass air,
65mm throttle body,
255lph fuel pump,
355 gears,
MSD 6BTM ,
MSD Coil,
MSD wires,

The car puts 410rwhp and 385rwtq on 93 octane. There was more in it, but I did not take the car over 5850 RPMS. I feared the block more than anything. It was very dependable and a daily driver.... for the most part. The car ran 11.80s with full interior and AC.

Hope this helps you with your choices....

Not sure how the TFS cam responds to boost but if it you should be in the neighborhood of 430-450 with 10psi and a good tune and good gas.
I've seen a less motor make those #s @10psi....

stay with the 38#s minimum.
