alternator dilema

hey that 4 gauge wire that you have in your car as well that goes to the starter solenoid right,and that stock one is a fusible link did you put a fuse on the four gauge or shoul di not worry bout that

i didnt do one at all but my dad told my to but in a fuse for it but i didn't listen ,a nd have fried 6 autozone starter solenoids, and 2 from ford

well what kind of fuse did he tell you to put in?lol got ot love the cheap chinese starte solenoids though i went thru 4 of those utnil steve told me to buy one form ford

he told me use the same that ford had, i say call ford and sind out the amperage value is, cuz i dont remember, use a high quality stereo fuse and holder if you use one

yeah i know i just dont know what the amperage is,dont really wanna burn the starter solenoid i was thinkoing of puting a 130 amp fuse on it

130 amps is too i high think cuz if a short happens, it gives the wire enought time to melt the insulation an start a fire under the hood, i recommend calling ford to get the amperage of the fusible link for the circuit, i dont run one cuz my alt only puts out a max of 86 amps because it has a 40% underdrive on it.

i ran mine with 94 alt and a powermaster wire and still fried it after 6 months. used another and was fine for a year then sold it, so i dont know how it is now
