From what i can see looks as if the top rings were installed upside down, and gapped wrong, But i cant see what would cause the gaskets to blown, unless your running high compression

I'd have to say ging gap or lack there of judging by the way both broke at the same place (pin). hurt the head?

it did not hurt the head but i'm sure it needs a valve job now

Pull a piston out, pull the top ring off and check the end gap.
