Good at troubleshooting?
Trying to fix this 
The old one wouldn't even turn it once
The new one made three turns before the solenoid would just click and not turn the starter

i'd say its a bad connection, take the jumper cables and connect them directly to the starter and see if it cranks, if it does, its the connections/wire, if not its the starter.....
