See this is what I am trying to say, you need to build what you want.
If you never plan on turning it more than 6 grand, why would you want a cam that is rate for more than that? Personally, I would suggest staying with an E-cam that makes the power between 2500 and 5500. It is friendly for juice and blower setups, plus it had a lumpy idle to give the girl something to complain about while your taking her to dinner. Also, you don't have to twist your motor to 6000 to get all of the E-cam. High compression + juice is already going to give you a quick whip. Do you want to squeeze every pony out of it or do you want to keep it on the street for a while?

I run the E-cam in my blower car and won't ever change it.... but that is what I would do.

yeah it has to last 2 yrs, till i move to houston. i think thats what i do, F-cam is gone and i'll use a E-cam, with 1.7s, how much power you think this will make to the ground with and without nitrous, i have a manual, alum. driveshaft and such, also what do you think it will make on 100 octane, cuz its like 3.99 a gallon up here. i just want to know cuz there is a boosted hatch up here, and he runs 8.30's on slicks, with the same setup, i run 8.5-6 consistantly on slicks as she sits right now. and he was talkin trash, just wondering what you guys think it'll run with 3.73's, and the bottle, for 1/4 and 1/8 on 26 x 10.5 m/t et's

i dont going cheap on critical things, especially bearings and oiling, etc. Well the F-cam is whats in their now, so i'll use it, and if i dont like it, i get and E-cam or something from Fox lake or AFM. I really want the car to have lots of useable power on the street and at the track, but i also want it be somewhat mannerly on the street. I would be in the process of putting it all in the car but i dont have my pan, or my welded and ported explorer lower. So thats really what is holding me up. What kind of balancer should i use? I also have underdrive pullies that have a 35% underdrive, so it has to the same thickness as the stock harmonic balancer to a t.

Well, again I have smaller heads, smaller intake, less CID, an old explorer shortblock, E cam with one bad lobe and made 300 with a stock t/b and 87 octane. My car is WAY heavier and run consistant 8.1-2 N/A.

thats not bad shaun, i know your cars quick. Well i liked the 4.30's but with the bottle, it was flying through the gears. So i'm gonna put 3.73's so everyonce in a while i can go run the quarter down in charlotte. I'll stick with the F-cam for now. I'll build the car the way i want. No matter what she bitches about. If its a problem just take her car. Shaun, whats 4 cid

Did you move?

PS. I hate to say it, but I used to do what the woman wanted as well. However the car is still here after ten years and there have been several girls through that time. So this is just my bias side talking.... Good luck with things....
