*MODULAR MADNESS* check out the pics of this nightmare...
I would not be so quick to pass judgement on modular madness just yet.

im not going to be prejudice to anyone, everyone in this board should know not to trust anything you see on the internet. hell i had 500 people telling me to stay away from blue oval corral and they was rip off artists and blah bloah blah, when the truth was Chead and Jeff has been the best mechanics they could ever be.
don't trust anything till you can see for yourself first hand on the subject. i will personally go to Modular Madness and see his operation for myself and wait for other peopel to get experiance with them. point and simple, dont pass judgement till you know thw whole truth, you give the guy a little benifit of the doubt that Tracy may be making alot of this up and Don is a outstading mechanic.

^^you never know^^
Yeah, letting them get setup and seeing how things go in town is a good thing to do, but IF there is some history there to be had, I want to know about it.
Leaving those accusations unanswered and unresolved would just make me wonder why he's leaving town to come here in the first place. Makes you wonder if the next time hes in a bind, he could screw some people and leave for another town? This is probably off-base, but these are the types of questions that pop up in peoples heads when this type of thing happens and there is no "other side" of the story.
I go on history. If I or anyone I know got screwed by a company years ago, bet-yer-ass I'd be watching things closely still today...

I dont think you can go on the "move to another town" or just pack up shop issue. He(Don) stated why he is coming down to Tampa, for two reasons, health and his spouse has a better chance for a job down here. I think she was a nurse or something, and we all know Florida is so damn short on nurses. Anyway, I will still give the guy a chance. I dont need an explanation on what happened to that chicks' cobra. She wrecked her lightning, and wanted the cobra back in any way it was. Granted, it should not have been the way it was when she got it, but whatever.

Yeah, dont take those examples to heart. I was just saying that by not coming to a resolution, peoples minds are going to wander. Uncertainty is a bad thing when you're moving to a new town and need to drum up some business.
The way I look at it is if its true, he should be doing something to put out the fire. If its not true, he should be suing the crap out of that person.
Take care

It was buried in that thread, but I found Dons reply:
"ok Tracy since you will not answer my calls then here it is !!!!
I have not and will not read this thread but I will answer with what I know of the situation and my side of the story and this is the side I have told many on here weeks ago , before any of this came out , as a matter of fact many were told the several days after her car left.
First off my guys drove down to get Tracy's car . they drove from NC to Texas to get it , But Tracy would fought us on the cost of Gas , I have reciepts totaling 330.00 for gas down and back and she did not want to cover the gas bill. She was told it would get worked in between current jobs we had at the shop which were 5 motor jobs right now . I myself did not give a for sure time frame since she had the Lightning to drive. The Lightning was then wrecked and fear of it being totalled was there and we got a call that a transport company was going to pick the cobra up on a monday and the car was not ready . at that time we were just putting the motor back in the car and still had other things to do to it . we had a pile of parts she wanted installed also and had all of that to do . suspension , k-member and many many other parts. as well as the headers , header install , cams , springs and everything else.
at this time she had an outstanding invoice on the car of 2000.00 and the car was not ready , after a tearful phone conversation on her part about not having a car to drive since she would loose the rental car . so she needed the cobra back to San Antonio ASAP regaurdless and she would get whatever needed to be finished in texas . and that is Tracy's exact words !!!.
well the car went on the dyno and was on the dyno from 5pm to 2am tuning and doing drivabilty , I have all the graph and raptor datalogs to show this and the dyno will put miles on a car. we found more problems with the car and she was called and told about it , the EEC was bad and had a code in it for the FPDM and it had been there for over a year according to Tracy , who had been driving on it like that . it in turn burned up the pumps , so the pumps and EEC where changed at the last minute with a new EEC and pumps in stock , PATS could not be reset do to not having 2 keys . and she was told this . the new spark plugs she had in the car had to be changed because the gaps were closed on 6 of them and 2 of them were at .045 . this was done at midnight. the car was finally tuned and fine at 2 am . the car made 640 rwhp , and idled at 850 rpm , it was running ouot of fuel at 6000 rpm typical of a cammed KB cobra without fuel line and fuel rail upgrades which we recommended.
we did exactly what we where told to do by Tracy and that was to get the car back to her and not miss the Transport on that Friday , I logged the mileage on the Vehicle as she asked and turned over to the transport driver . it was loaded 2nd from the front , not second from the rear . there was no driveabilty issues on the car when it left , and the timing was not a tooth off.
I did not put the parts in car , there was 250lbs of parts to return , I talked to Tracy about this , and she fails to remember alot of stuff , I also talked to her Husband a few times from Iraq about this . I sent her a finally invoice for around the 900.00 owed on the last minute work , she was charged for the wideband because she was charge very very little to tune the car. so if she would like I will take the wideband charge off and charge by the hour to tune.
in a whole for the cams and everything she paid a very small price compared to what alot of you guys on here would pay. probally half of what you guys would pay . Tracy claimed to her husband she did not recieve this invoice . this was part of the COD , since she would not reply to me she could pay for the outstanding invoice and the shipping of 250lbs of parts . which cost me 125.00 . Well she refused the shipment and I ate the shipping and the invoice . so the parts are paying off the invoice.
and any one that would fault me for not wanting to put 250lbs of dirty k-member , a-arms and other parts that will not fit into her trunk in the back seat of the car , so she can then gripe about that , so be it ....I did what I felt was right , just like I alway do.
Until you know me do not judge me !!!!
come meet me in person , I have always told people that . and I still say that.
Since this has started I have recieved over a 100 email virus' a day to my computers at the business and at Home , not that is bull and as far as I am concerned chickensh**t , they have been traced through Texas and Michigan , and I have turned them over to the correct people.
I did what I was told by Tracy and she just had to have it back reguardless. she said it did not matter if it was done or not , it had to be back , she was not billed for alot of stuff. she got her wishes and got the car back against my better judgement. The job was not finished but it went on the transporter the way she just had to have it . now she does this.
as for the tuner , well tracy you were sold the tuner and told to return the chip and actually given credit for the chip , actually you were given more credit than you paid for it , but you never returned the chip , and you were given the choice to use the chip or tuner and you chose the chip , so the tuner came back since it was the same price I gave you for the chip credit.
and last thing I will say about the whole deal is I sent the job out as the customer requested , many know how Tracy , many will not step up and say it. She got the car when she just had to have it and that is the way she wanted it . so as for her wanting something from me , she will get nothing . I stand by myself and my shop just as every other shop owner does. We did what was requested and now a story comes out and everyone jumps on my ass .
Don"
To which, the plaintiff
replied:
"Well it's about time!!
You have not called since the Sunday after the car was returned. Period.
Let's tell the whole story about the trip to Texas.
In January your shop manager, Paul, called me and asked for a personal favor. He asked me to pick up a 60" tv 50 miles south of Houston and bring it to my house. He said he and his buddy would make a road trip to TX to pick it up and hangout in SA for a few days. A few days later, he called and said that since he was coming to TX with the truck, he might as well bring the trailer and take my car back to the shop in NC for cams and a tune. I had talked about these mods with you previously. This sounded fine by me. When you were in TX in the spring of 04, I bought a flash tuner and paid for a custom dyno tune, but you could NOT tune my car with the SCT MAF for various reasons including dyno malfunction and running out of time. For 8 months I could not take my car to the track or above 5500rpm because the MAF was pegged.
Back to the Texas trip.
I drove the Lightning to pick up the tv. It was approximately 530 miles round trip. I bought tarps and tie downs.
Paul set the date when he was coming to TX. He and his friend spent two nights at MY house and I provided all meals. I had a great time during the visit and enjoyed thier company. I was not offered a dime in reimbursement for my trip to Houston.
When I got the bill with the fuel charge I called Paul. We had not discussed it prior, but I told him I did not think it fair for me to pay the entire amount since he was coming to TX anyway. Paul agreed totally and said he'd take care of it. He split the cost with me and I paid the invoice.
Me rushing you.
If you could not fit the car in and were that busy, why the hell did you schedule my Cobra. I did not set any dates, your shop did. You also gave me a time frame of 3 weeks to a month. You had the car more than two months. Yes, I pushed to get the car back in the end after I realized I was getting screwed but it was already way past an acceptable time frame.
Was I upset? Of course I was. My husband was in Iraq, my truck had been wrecked a couple of days before the initial scheduled pickup of the Cobra (the month and a half point), I had no vehicle and I was getting the runaround from a shop 1300 miles away.
Stock parts.
The agreement was the K member and exhaust would be shipped separately at my cost. The little stuff was to go in the car. If it's dirty, put it in a trash bag or box in the trunk?? Not that difficult.
The drivability of the car sucked from the minute it came off the transport. It was NOT tuned properly. How many sworn affidavits stating that do you want? Paul has already admitted to many things that were done wrong and it is documented.
The FDPM error. It was a code thrown when I tried to load your tune via the flasher. I got a tune from someone else and was able to flash without any problems whatsoever.
Viruses...I don't know where they're coming from but I use a Mac computer and we don't have viruses. Bring on the FBI! The truth is, you were trying to use a scare tactic to get the admins of the board to delete this post.
I went from disappointed and feeling betrayed to straight up pissed off. Make up all the lies and stories you want Don, in the end I will win because I am the one telling the truth and have all the proof I need."
Just the facts sir!
