Default Romeo or Windsor?
how do i tell which block i got in my 03 GT? im going to buy a set of new valve covers and i have no clue which block i have....

its a windsor. They both share the "PI" head so they both use the same v/c.

Actually it's probrably a Romeo but could be a windsor. I don't remember the vin code so just count the valve cover bolts. If they have 14 bolts it's a windsor. I believe Romeo's have 11.

DAMN! i guess ill wait until i get home and see how many bolts are on there, i dont want to order the wrong set of valve covers.

It's a Romeo. I'm almost positive as they shut the Windsor plant down in '02 IIRC. Maybe '01. Anyhow, every '02 and later I've seen has had a romeo in it, and that is alot of mustangs.

like shwan said there all the same, cause the pi heads are all the same, it would only matter with 96-98 heads

Wrong, PI heads were on both Windsor and Romeo motors. Actually they were on the Winsor motors first. The Windsor plant ssupplies mostly engines for the truck lines but they were used exclusively in the '99-'00 mustangs. I was under the impression that all '02 and up Mustangs were Romeos until I rececntly saw an '03 I believe with a Windsor in it. Like I said, it should be a Romeo, but I'd make sure before you order anything.

David is correct, it could be either one. Better wait till you get home so you can count the bolts and be 100% sure before you place your order.

Which valve covers are you going with?
