Default ? for the Ford guys

So a few weeks we got into a pissing match about the gt500 vs a z06. Well I was looking in the paper and saw a saleen for 50k?? so the junky saleen will get 50k but the gt500 will be 40k or less?? This is confusing, it's like saying a 1500 sq ft home is 175K and the 3000 ft home in 150K in the same nieghborhood but the bigger house has a pool too. Please do not flame answer with logic! Please!

I know a guy that was looking into buying a GT500 and I can tell you this, it is going to cost a lot more than 40k. They wanted 5k up front, then when the car was ready, in a year or so, they would notify you and let you know what the price was going to be. You then would have the option of buying the car or backing out and getting your 5k back.

Agreed!

Yeah my budy Neal went to see about getting one. They said you can possibly get one but you need to put down 5k now and get one if you agree on the price which is non negotiable. I still say about 55k.

Mars , agreed again. But the zo6 is a better all arounf car, and I mean versus all three. The handling is superior. You could go auto x it and then change to some sticky tires and run the quarter and whip butt in both plus be comfortable.

The idiots that pay dealer markup are going to be pissed later in the year when they realize that Ford is still making "as many as consumers will purchase" and the dealers are no longer marking them up - and maybe blowing a few out.

They got a premium for the 03-04 cobras as well. BTW, the 03-04 cobra put a total beating on any "tuner" car you could get - as far as bang-per-buck. I think Ford gave it a break to let the tuners sell some cars. Afterall, that helps Ford in the marketing dept - if Ford build faster, better cars every year, Saleen and Roush wouldnt even bother.
