The fact that ford can put these cars out and they are, IMO, more valuable and better bang for buck than any of the tuner cars out there (years back, this wasnt the case), hurts the tuner car market. Thats not bad, IMO - I would prefer a car that came fast directly from ford, as opposed to a modified one. I just think its wierd how ford has been skipping a year or two here and there.

Well a lot of "idiots" are already lined up for it. Remember people who buy z06, gt500 and vipers have some extra coin and it does not seem as dumb as it does to us people.

Don't use Saleens or Roush's as a comparison since they are aftermarket and get top dollar from their target market.
The little checking I did says the the GT500 can be had for $40k as long as you do not want to be the first dumb ass in line to get one.

Heh, I've already posted my opinions on the tuner cars so no need to get into that again. The GT500 is the ONLY new car that I've given any consideration to buying since the 70's. I bought my wife a new Xterra a couple of months ago, but that doesn't count. I'm talking about for me. I'll wait to see what things pan out to be on it and then make a decision. If it's a ripoff then I'll just keep on getting ratty notchbacks and playing lowball. Currently, I don't see any car out there that is worth the price. The new Cobras come close but that's about it IMHO.
