Default Tech Advice # 2

I just realized my Trick Flow tall valve covers don't have a ventilation port. I am going to port the driver side, would anyone reccomend Positive Ventilation? Meaning a pvc tube going to the aircleaner or carb? Or just pop a K&N breather on it? I am afraid with the high compression it will pull oil into the line PVC line if I run one.

If you're gonna run a PCV I think you're going to need two holes.
One with a breather to let clean air in and the other smaller hole to pcv.
You will be fine w/o one but it does help with that engine oil smell if you do alot of street driving with it.

I was under the impression you had to have one, won't the pressure build up in the oilpan?

Yes, you have to atleast have the breather. The second hole for the PCV is optional if you choose to use it. Kinds sucks about the Trickflow covers not having holes.

Just put a breather on it. PCV was designed to pull crankcase gasses into the intake and burn them so that they didn't get out into the open air. It's solely an emissions device.

What are you going to do about an oil fill tube? Trick Flow makes a peice that you have to buy additionally to the valve covers, for an oil fill neck. You can use that as a PCV and an oil fill, personally, I would have prefered the regular FRPP valve covers IMO.

Not 100% true or there would be no such thing as evac pumps.
