Question Leak help

I cant find a trans fluid leak on a C4. When i was driving the other day trans fluid started to hit the exhaust and even left a trail on the ground. I put more fluid in started the car on ramps and couldnt find the leak. I tightened the pan bolts and checked the lines. I put the car back on the ground and a few drops hit the ground but i couldn't see from where. Any ideas?? Should i drive the car and see if the pressure makes it leak??

see if it's spitting through the vent tube or if it's possibly leaking around the fill tube threads..

What he said ^ Are you sure you have the right length dipstick? You may be overfilling it and, like Derek said, blowing it out the vent. Hopefully it's not a front seal, though it is possible.

Yeah, the vent is located on the top back by the tailshaft. If you are overfilled, it won't necessariily leak just sitting there idling but when you take off down the road and the pressure rises, it will spew out the vent. I have that T-shirt in my collection.

I dont think it was overfilled because it went from no leak to leaving a trail behind the car. I had to park it and put in more trans fluid to make it home. It has a chrome aftermarket dipstick. The car also had B&M Trick shift in it went the leak started, dont know if that makes a difference. It now has regular Mercon trans fluid in it. I'm gunna drive it today and see what happens. Also this car is a rev manual valvebody with a 5,000 stall conv.

It was all under the car, dried it all off, added more tranny fluid, put on jacks, let car idle and havent seen any leak.

I drove it today...it must be coming out of the vent. I think its foaming and pushing it out the vent. I have trans fluid running down and dripping out of the whole exhaust. How do i get it to stop foaming and or pushing it out the overflow vent????
