285s?... i dont think they make 285s...

On a stockish GT you should be fine. If your makin some pretty good power... they dont hook to good, I have 275s on my car right now. And spin bad all the way to 4th gear... (burping the throttle alot!) I have a stock rearend.. and have launched my car plenty of times on straight slicks.... no rearend breakage. Only thing it has done is smoked my trac-loc clutches... my .02

I was supposed to have my 555R's today but they sent shitty ass regular 555's, so now I have to wait until Monday/Tuesday next week. I guess that's what you get when you order crap on line. Good price though $148 a piece. Sweetness.

m/t's would be overkill on a stock gt, especially if he is worried about breaking stuff imo. Plus they don't last nearly as long as the nittos.

The gforce drags are nice, my friend went 1.6s with a stalled/cam ls1 on stock suspension.

I tore the upper torque boxes out of my 00 GT with 275 Nitto's,so you can break shit with them if your really hard.

lol thats cool i found a little better deal but im not sure if i want to do them or not yet. I wont be going to the track very often and i dont wanna spend that much on tires that arent gonna last me very long, exp since i never race on the streets

man, why you gotta knock a brother down

You're right though, they probably would be overkill.. The ones I have will hold the power the Cobra puts down without hardly spinning at all. Although I might have to disagree about nitto's lasting longer.. Someone got 10k miles off the MT et radials..
